Studio condo in Arlington, Virginia costs $258,000
Many home buyers in the DC area consider Arlington a great place to live. It is outside the city limits but offers quick access to downtown DC, walking, public transportation, and parks. This opportunity means home prices are high in suburban northern Virginia. In May, the median sale price for a home in Arlington was $676,200, according to Bright MLS, higher than the median sale price of $650,000 in DC.
But buyers willing to sacrifice some space can find a place to buy even if their budget exceeds $400,000. For example, a studio in Arlington’s Prospect House, a familiar building on the North Arlington skyline near the Potomac River and the Iwo Jima Memorial, costs $258,000.
The unit, at 1200 N. Nash St., #1165, has monthly condo fees of $436 and annual property taxes of $2,479. Condo fees include all utilities, maintenance of common areas, management and reserve funds. This unit comes with an assigned space in the parking lot.
Prospect House amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, laundry room, 24-hour security and concierge services, bicycle storage, meeting room, convenience store, and dry cleaner. Pets are not accepted.
Built in 1980, Prospect House is a short walk from cycle paths and 1 km from Rosslyn Tube Station. Restaurants and shopping are less than a mile from the condo. The Pentagon, Reagan National Airport and Georgetown Waterfront Park are less than five miles away.
The 11th floor studio faces west to watch the sunset. It measures 485 square feet with space for a dining area, a full-size sofa, and a queen-size bed in the main room. The galley-style kitchen has white cabinets, granite countertops, and new stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, gas range, and built-in microwave. The studio, which is partially carpeted, also has a walk-in closet, a full bathroom with a combination tub and shower, central air conditioning, heating, and gas hot water.
