Reading, MA – The final touch was provided by Nauset Construction at The Postmark, a mixed-use resort developed by DiBiase Homes and Matrix Property Group.

Nauset has built 50 luxury residential units – which have been 90% pre-soldand preserved the facade of the historic 1918 U.S. Post Office while transform the century-old building into 8,000 square feet of commercial space which will include a restaurant on the ground floor.

Located at the junction of Haven and Sanborn streets, in the heart of Reading’s bustling downtown business district, The Postmark is just steps from the MBTA Commuter Rail Haverhill line.

The development team and O’Sullivan Architects of Reading worked closely with the Massachusetts and Reading Historical Commissions to create a design that preserves the Georgian Neo-Corinthian facade and Corinthian columns, as well as the curved exterior stairs at the main entrance. The five-storey, contemporary-style residential addition was constructed using a combination of brick and stone at the base and clapboard siding and wood detailing to replicate the classic character of the original post office. One- and two-bedroom condominium homes feature open floor plans, designer-designed luxury finishes, an abundance of natural light, and energy-efficient appliances. Owners enter The Postpark through a professionally landscaped courtyard and have access to an expansive common area, private gym and a large residents-only rooftop terrace located on 5and penthouse floor.

Nauset Construction’s extensive experience in historic renovation projects and expertise in building mid-sized multi-family projects in high-traffic downtown locations were key to the success of the project. “The postmark showcases two of Nauset Construction’s greatest strengths: multi-family urban infill construction and the thoughtful restoration and repurposing of historically significant structures,” said Nauset Construction President Anthony Papantonis.

DiBiase Homes has extensive experience in permitting, developing and building new residential homes for sale throughout the Greater Boston area. “The Postmark offers new owners a unique level of luxury urban living, in a classic suburban downtown setting, while embracing and restoring the iconic architectural character of the original 1918 United States Post Office,” said Paul DiBiase, President and CEO of DiBiase Homes.
