Irish HR firm opens UK headquarters at Southside Building
The Southside Building on Hurst Street in Birmingham has welcomed a new tenant and cafe operator.
Irish HR tech specialist HR Duo is set to create 20 new jobs as it takes up 1,615 square feet on the eighth floor for its UK headquarters.
Braska Coffee House opened in the 644 square foot ground floor cafe and will sell Fairtrade coffee and pan-Asian inspired dishes to occupants and the public.
The 11-storey building recently completed a £2.5million refurbishment, with owners Paloma Capital aiming to provide a contemporary workspace with occupant benefits.
These include The Studio, a coworking center with a conference room and teleconferencing facilities, as well as bike storage, showers, changing rooms and lockers.
Joe Cox, UK Country Director at HR Duo, said: “We are a disruptor in the HR tech market and we wanted a UK head office that reflected our brand personality.
“The building itself, with its modern design, impressed our UK team and the proximity to public transport has really made their lives easier, especially since implementing our hybrid working practices.”
Rory May of Braska Coffee House said, “I am very excited to serve our freshly prepared pan-Asian inspired dishes and our coffee made from organic Peruvian coffee beans while providing a new meeting place.
“The Southside Building provides a creative and unique environment and I was already a regular user of The Studio, the brilliant collaboration space overlooking Hippodrome Square.”
Alex Tross, commercial director at Centrick Commercial, brokered the HR Duo deal on behalf of building owner Paloma Capital. He said: “What sets the Southside Building apart is its sleek design and emphasis on modern occupant lifestyles and community vibe.
“The on-site concierge, events and renter discounts, on-site parking and bike storage, locker rooms and incredible city views make this a very special place to work.
“I am delighted that HR Duo has found a space that matches the profile of its new UK branch and I look forward to seeing it grow. They join a booming pool of companies in the fintech, professional services and healthcare sectors.
